Should I Work with an Orthodontist and a Regular Dentist?
While every orthodontist is a dentist, not every dentist is an orthodontist. That’s why it’s important to visit an orthodontist if you want to straighten your teeth; they have undergone specialty training in common orthodontic problems, complex cases, and everything in between. For us, collaborating with your dentist is an important part of making sure that the end result is a smile that’s as healthy as it is beautiful.
What Are My Options for Straightening My Teeth?
After years of helping patients day in and day out, we can tell you that no two smiles are exactly the same. For that reason, our team at Simply Orthodontics, Milford offers multiple orthodontic treatments in-house. In addition to traditional braces, which are ideal for addressing complex cases of malocclusion, there are several more discreet options for image-conscious teens and adults, including Invisalign. If you’d like to learn more about the teeth-straightening services we offer and which ones are ideal for you, then take the next step: schedule a consultation with us!
Would Dental Insurance Help Me Save on Orthodontic Treatment?
If your dental plan includes partial coverage of orthodontic treatment, then the answer is “yes!” That’s why we encourage our patients to familiarize themselves with their benefits prior to their visit. If that proves to be a bit difficult, don’t worry – that’s where we come in. We happily welcome many of the nation’s leading providers, and we have the experience needed to make understanding and utilizing your available coverage a breeze.
Note: If you don’t have dental insurance at the moment, then ask us about the other financial solutions we offer!
How Long Is the Orthodontic Treatment Process?
Treatment plans vary in length depending on several factors, starting with the complexity of the case. At your consultation, Dr. Carlotto or Dr. Alkhoury will provide you with an estimate so you have a general idea of the time you need to invest. They will also share what you should (and shouldn’t) do in order to avoid unwanted treatment plan delays. That way, your journey to a straighter smile is as smooth, stress-free, and short as possible!
Is Straightening Teeth Painful?
To be honest, every orthodontic treatment comes with some soreness, especially at the beginning when your teeth are starting to move. Don’t worry – there’s some good news too: the sensation is only temporary. Plus, there are several things you can do to both prevent and alleviate any discomfort that arises, like eating soft foods (i.e., scrambled eggs, oatmeal, applesauce) and taking OTC pain medication.
